Joint work on the questions that arise at home — communication between the parents, communication between parents and child, parental authority, boundaries, and emotional dialogue. Most sessions are with the parents rather than the child, because the parent is the expert on their parenting and has far greater influence on the child's life than the psychologist does.

The service includes planning sessions, staff meetings, staff–parent meetings, crisis support, and organizational consultation. Sometimes a single consultation, sometimes a year-long engagement.
